Hi, my name is Ollie. My foster mom says I am a smart, sweet dog – the best dog. She also loves that I have a very cheerful disposition. • I love the mental stimulation of all my toys, especially balls, ones with squeakers and tassels such as rope toys, and the slotted Kong ball with kibble inside. I’m learning to self-entertain with my toys. • I’m potty training outside and doing really well. Of course, my foster mom is doing well at reading my cues: loss of interest in toys, wandering off, and going to the door. I will be a good candidate for a doggie door as I am being door-trained to go outside. • I settle in my crate pretty quickly (within 5 mins) for naps and to sleep at night. I’m sleeping through the night, but like to have a soft toy just in case I wake up. I’ll self sooth with that. • My foster mom has gotten me on a pretty good schedule that works for us. Of course, you may need a slightly different schedule: wake up/out for potty; eat breakfast; play; training; out for potty; nap; play some more; crate for work; repeat. • I got to go to a local quilt shop for a little socialization and had fun meeting so many new people. I love everyone. • Chasing after a lure on a rope attached to a dowl stick for exercise is exciting, but if you like long hikes that would be amazing. I’m sure I’ll love a dog park too! Training Accomplishments: • I sit really well and am doing well at down with a treat incentive. • A game I love is come-when-called. My foster mom attaches a long line/recall line (21 ft), throws a toy/ball and after I get it she says come-come-come and I return to her! • She also taught me the “place” command with a blanket at her feet. She put her hand with a treat on the blacket and says “your place” and I come there. Now I bring all my toys back there when playing in the house without a treat incentive. In addition, I come there to nap. • We are working on leave it/distract and replace with toys to alleviate nipping fingers and I’m coming along nicely. • I know I will have lots of new experiences with you. • I can’t wait for my forever home.
